Mark's career in music began in 1982, by teaching himself guitar techniques, using the Aaron Shearer and Berklee guitar methods
Upon graduating from Seton Hill University at Greensburg, Pennsylvania in 2003, Mark accepted a position teaching music with the Loudoun County Virginia Public Schools system.
. Mark received his Master's Degree in Music Education from George Mason University
. Was recognized by Virginia Governor, Mark Warner, for teaching excellence
. Received the Inaugural Seton Hill University Excellence in Teaching Award for Fine Arts
Presently, Mark owns and operates StudioRock of Northern Virginia, a music performance studio located in Herndon, Virginia.
He also directs youth bands in the annual YouthFest Music Festival located in Loudoun County. The fest is active 4 months out of the year and includes “Battle of Bands” events. Mark and the drummer for Flight of Odin, Kenny Finger are among the Battle of the Bands’ judges.

In the warmer months, Mark works security for Live Nation at its Bristow, Virginia location.
This involvement has taught him much about live music production.
Currently, Mark is involved in multiple music collaborations with musicians from around the world and also looks forward to a future with Flight of Odin.
